As Senior Advisor, Tim brings more than 40 years of experience in construction and home-improvement writing, editorial direction, and publishing management. He has worked in magazine and book publishing – and during the past 10-plus years in online house-plan publishing as a natural progression, or evolution, from print home-plan publishing.
Tim has written home-related articles for places including Realtor Magazine, National Association of Realtors, and The Innovation Enterprise. He typically writes on architectural styles, IoT and smart homes, and the home-building process. In addition to articles, here are just a few books that Tim has written or edited: The New Ultimate Book of Home Plans: Lowe's Branded (Author), Walls, Walks & Patios: Plan - Design - Build (Author), Adding Space Without Adding On (Editor), and Kitchens: Design, Remodel, Build (Editor).
Previously, Tim was with Creative Homeowner, a lifestyle book and digital media publisher where he first became introduced to house-plan publishing. There, he led a creative team producing high-quality lifestyle books that won dozens of industry awards from organizations such as USA Book News Best Book Award; Independent Publishers Book Award (gold, silver, bronze levels); Publishers Marketing Association Ben Franklin Award; Foreward Magazine's Book of the Year. He was also part of the team that spearheaded the transition of house-plan marketing from books and magazines to the Internet.
Tim enjoys researching and writing about the real estate market, residential architecture, home improvement, and landscaping/gardening.
Tim is an active contributor to The Plan Collection's resource library and our home architecture and building video lecture series on YouTube. Connect with Tim on LinkedIn.
